- UBER AUG 21 ‘26 75 Call: the same symbol existed last week, but the old short calls were bought back on Aug 5 and re-sold on Aug 7. This is effectively a new short option position with the same strike and expiry.
No new crypto symbols were added on Binance. RWUSD, ETH, and EURI balances increased slightly; GRAM decreased.
Positions Closed This Week #
| Symbol | Action | Details | Realized P&L |
|---|---|---|---|
| TWLO | Sold 35 shares on Aug 7 | 35 @ $224.15, proceeds $7,845.25 | -$2,865.75 |
| UBER AUG 21 ‘26 75 Call (old) | Bought back 5 short calls on Aug 5 | 5 @ $0.25, total $125 | +$1,422 vs original credit |
TWLO was the only position that disappeared from the previous week’s table. The old UBER calls were closed and then re-opened, so the UBER call row still appears this week.
Analysis / Notes #
- UBER is the largest equity exposure in IBKR and drove the main swing this week. Stock market value rose from $35,225 to $37,493, implying the price moved from roughly $70.45 to $74.99. The August 21 $75 short calls are now close to the money.
- The UBER option management was the key options event. Buying back 5 short calls on Aug 5 for $125 captured a large realized gain relative to the original $1,547 credit. Re-selling the same strike/expiry on Aug 7 for $1,065 brought in fresh premium, resetting the cost basis to -$1,063 and the unrealized P&L to +$82.50.
- BLZE stock rallied from $13.62 to $18.86 per share, a +38.5% week-over-week move. That improved the stock position by +$524, but the short 20 call also lost $52.73 in mark-to-market as the option moved from -$45.25 to -$97.98.
- SPCX is the largest new option loss. The short 125/140 bear call spread was opened for a credit of $1,674 but is marked -$3,335, so the position is currently losing $1,661. As a defined-risk spread, the maximum loss is bounded by the spread width.
- TWLO was closed for a realized loss of about -$2,866. The position had an unrealized loss of -$3,804 the prior week, so closing removed further downside exposure and added roughly $7,845 of cash.
- ATOS and PSFE remain deeply impaired. ATOS market value is $181 against a $3,542 cost basis (-94.9%), while PSFE is $366 against a $2,992 cost basis (-87.8%). Both are small absolute positions but remain significant percentage losers.
- On Binance, ETH is still the main drag: floating P&L is -$51,981, though that improved by +$1,415 week-over-week as ETH market value rose +$1,453. RWUSD remains the largest crypto-side holding at $130,870 and behaves like a stable, cash-like asset.
